It crystallized on Tumblr around 2015, exploded on TikTok in 2020, and draws its emotional core from Donna Tartt's 1992 novel *The Secret History*.

As a design system it translates that literary nostalgia into warm parchment backgrounds, oxblood accents, classical serif typography, and generous reading columns that evoke the feel of a well-loved book spread open on a mahogany desk.
