About Climate Loss & Damage Tribunal

On 23 July 2025 the International Court of Justice handed down a unanimous advisory opinion on the obligations of States in respect of climate change. It did two things this design system is built around: it held the causal-nexus standard flexible enough for climate injury, and it named fossil-fuel licences and subsidies as conduct that can be internationally wrongful.

So the artefact here is the court document itself. Graphite ink on bleached white stock, UN Blue in the institutional furniture, numbered paragraphs in a measured column, and the IPCC's own published scenario hexes doing the work of evidence rather than persuasion.
