Agnes Martin White Grid

Agnes Martin's mature paintings lay a hand-ruled graphite grid and near-transparent pale washes over a double-primed white gesso ground that is never fully covered. Made in the New Mexico desert, they read as luminous, sun-bleached fields — quiet, meditative, softened by the slightly trembling line of a human hand. This system channels that stillness into interface language: a greyed cool-white page so the faint grid and blue-grey wash can read, whisper-soft washes that barely surface, and a hand-drawn tremble that keeps every line human. The white base is the essence; everything else only whispers.
