Philippine Adobe Tuff renders the Spanish-colonial churches of Paoay and San Agustin Manila — built not of mud-brick but of volcanic tuff and coral stone. The palette is a single aged, muted mid-pale stone gray, porous and pitted, read in its weathered state rather than fresh-cut.
Massive sloped buttresses, thick load-bearing walls, lime-coral-molasses mortar joints, and low-relief baroque scrollwork define the geometry. Inscriptional baroque serif caps carry the colonial lettering tradition across every surface.
