Edo Ukiyo-e (Hokusai)

Free

Ukiyo-e — "pictures of the floating world" — is the Japanese woodblock printing tradition that defined Edo-period visual culture. This design system distills Hokusai's iconic palette of Prussian blue and vermillion on warm washi paper into a modern interface language.

Flat color planes replace gradients. Delicate brush-line outlines replace heavy borders. Asymmetric compositions with strong diagonal energy echo the compositional boldness of "The Great Wave off Kanagawa."
