Principles of the Floating World

Flat planes hold more truth than depth
Each layer of color exists on its own surface, refusing the illusion of perspective.
The wave teaches the line to move
Curves carry kinetic energy through static ink, turning stillness into motion.
Seven colors suffice for the whole world
A limited palette forces intention — every hue earns its place on the block.
Paper is never blank, only waiting
The washi ground participates in the image — not a passive surface, but a collaborator.
