Kanchipuram Silk Saree (Temple Korvai)

ProMax

The Kanjivaram (Kanchipuram) saree is a lustrous mulberry-silk weave from Tamil Nadu, built on the korvai technique — body and border woven separately, then interlocked in deliberately clashing shades and threaded throughout with gold zari. Its signature combination pairs a rich purple silk body with a peacock-blue border, carrying gopuram temple-spire borders, mango paisley buttas, and peacock-eye motifs.

This design system translates that loom into the screen — a deep purple silk ground, a clashing peacock-teal and peacock-blue korvai contrast, and gold-zari ornament that catches light like real metal thread, all zoned into body, border, and broad pallu.
