Pua kumbu is the ritual ikat blanket of the Iban Dayak of Sarawak, Borneo — backstrap-loomed cotton dyed with plant roots into a deep indigo-and-rust ground, with ecru spirit-figures reserved in the weave. Brick red, rust brown, crème, and faded indigo carry hornbill forms and figurative deities, their edges softly feathered where the resist-dye bleeds along the threads.
This design system distills that sacred cloth into digital form — a dark dyed field, soft-edged motifs, banded registers, and warm literary serifs that read like an oral epic woven thread by thread.
