In 1968 Edward Saidi Tingatinga began painting leopards and hornbills with leftover bicycle enamel on 60×60cm hardboard squares in his Oyster Bay courtyard. Six colors, no shading, every animal in bold profile on a flat saturated ground.
This design system channels the cobalt-blue ground variant — the color of the Indian Ocean at noon — with vermilion baobabs, emerald acacia, and bicycle-yellow leopards outlined in confident black brushstrokes.
