Newar tundal carving is the deeply worked roof-strut woodcraft of the Kathmandu Valley, seen at Bhaktapur's 55-Window Palace and the Pujari Math. Centuries-old sal-wood struts of deities and pierced lattice windows have darkened almost black through age and oiling, set against Bhaktapur's red brick.
This design system translates that tradition into digital form — a near-black aged-hardwood ground, carved mid-brown figures, pierced-lattice framing, and the muted brick-red complement of Bhaktapur masonry, all rendered with the depth and shadow of undercut relief rather than flat color.
