The Unkillable Pigment

Painted in turquoise,
meant to &outlast
the temple.

Indigo bonded to palygorskite clay, laid in flat saturated registers across lime-stucco walls — a Mesoamerican blue that survives acid, weather, and twelve centuries of tropical humidity. Deep, never sky; greenish-marine, never pastel.
