The Thread That Refuses to End

Last January, in a small archive room beside the river, I watched a conservator lift one pale length of linen from its backing. Nothing announced itself at first. Then the braid began to wander: around a hollow circle, through a vine, and back into its own beginning without ever breaking faith.

Continuity is the point

We have learned to prize the finished image and ignore the patient route that made it. But this work asks for another kind of attention. Its empty spaces are not omissions; they are the measure of each turn, each held tension, each decision to continue rather than cut.
