On the Patience of Gilded Lettering
أربعة قواعد في فنّ صناعة البطاقة

Four rules · drawn by hand, not by lens

Letter the Arabic first أوّلًا

The Naskh hand sets the column width; the Latin sub-title is fitted around it, never the reverse.

Gild only the bearing lines ثانيًا

One hairline of gold above and below each title. The rest is sepia ground — restraint costs nothing.

Keep the frame symmetrical ثالثًا

Mirrored lotus motifs at all four corners; if a flourish breaks symmetry, redraw it before the next take.

Let the grain remain رابعًا

Silver-nitrate emulsion ages on its own schedule. Print the card; do not polish what time will soften.
