Chapter II The Regulation of Nature
07 / 18
Четыре обязанности

Four duties of the resurrected age.

I

Turn agriculture into weather-work.

The plough is provisional; the atmosphere is the true field. We seed the clouds, not the furrow — the harvest belongs to those who govern rainfall.

II

Treat the archive as a body still breathing.

Every parish register, every daguerreotype, every muster roll is a fragment of a person we have promised to raise. To lose a name is to consent to a death twice.

III

Populate the planets before we outgrow the earth.

Fedorov set the deadline in the 1880s and history has kept it. Museums, seed-vaults, and rocket-yards are one continuous instrument for surviving our own multiplication.

IV

Make the museum the parliament of the fathers.

What the icon corner once was to the room — a place where the living face the returned — the museum must become to the city: not memorial, but summoning.
