At 03:18, the night team returned to the Fp1–F3 channel after a movement artefact cleared. The montage held its baseline at 30 mm/s; a short alpha lift from 8 to 12 Hz was visible without turning the review into an alarm. The useful fact was its duration, not its drama.

The same discipline travels from bedside EEG to implanted systems. BrainGate studies and the Stentrode device ask different questions of hardware, but both reward a stable reference: delta below 4 Hz, theta at 4–7, beta at 13–30, and gamma above 32. Name the band, mark the time, then make the claim.
