I spent two weeks last winter reading maintenance notes from chamber tests, and the same lesson kept returning: the garment is not soft equipment. It is a small vehicle with arms, a cooling plant, abrasion armor, and enough restraint geometry to make motion possible without making it easy.

The color looks plain only from a distance. Up close, the shell is a register of shadow channels, blue identification bands, red command marks, and hard circular ports. Each choice reduces ambiguity for the crew member outside and for the operator watching from a cold console.
