Alexander-laurel is lathe-shaped into the bowl over two days, until the wall rings true under the chisel.
Each layer is friction-burnished onto the spinning vessel; the red coat goes on last and stays dominant.
A bent steel hook scrapes through the red to expose yellow scrollwork and a hairline of black beneath.
No varnish is added; the depth comes from the lac itself, polished by hand until the scroll seems lit from within.
