Section 04 · Doctrine — What the ship demands of us

Four rules the hull keeps.

CLEARANCE · GARDE 3 REV · 2019.11 · SIGNED T.KOZLOV
01
RULE · 01 · TRUST THE INSTRUMENT

Read the reticle, not the window.

If the HUD disagrees with what the eye sees, the eye is late. Nine of ten hull contacts are logged by the array before anyone in the cabin sees the shape moving.

LATENCY · 28 MS
02
RULE · 02 · KEEP THE CORRIDOR COLD

A quiet deck is a working deck.

Warm palettes on the bridge mean warm bodies making a warm decision. Hold the interior colourless until the alarm asks for colour — then let cyan mean one thing only.

DECK TEMP · 14.2 °C
03
RULE · 03 · THE HULL IS NOT A METAPHOR

Metal fatigues before people do.

Every panel on Deck 7 has a name and a mileage. We replace the plate at 0.82 of rated cycle, not when it fails. Grief for a rivet is cheaper than grief for a crewmate.

PANEL CYCLE · 0.74
04
RULE · 04 · SHIP THE COLD DECISION

Decide before the adrenaline.

Kabizashi doctrine is written months in advance and read aloud at every shift change. The crew who improvises loses the ship; the crew that rehearsed keeps it.

DRILL PARITY · 96 %
