On the old lake road, a shawl is never just warm. It is an archive in thread: revised by one wrist, answered by another, then carried into a room where speed has begun to feel indecent.

The border remembers before the center speaks

For our winter issue, we followed three embroiderers as they mapped a border without drawings. Each blue turn was tested against gold, teal, and rose; nothing shouted, yet every inch insisted that patience can be seen.
