WHAT THE SURFACE DOES

Chrome That Remembers

1

Mirror, not paint

The surface reflects its field rather than wearing a flat coat — speculars track the room, so the dark ground is the whole point, never a styling accident.

2

Cool by chemistry

Highlights stay blue-violet, never gold. Warm metal reads as brass; we keep the alloy on the cold side of the spectrum so it reads as mercury, not jewelry.

3

Bevel does the work

Every edge gets a glossy inset highlight and a darkened underside — flat matte gray is forbidden here, because flatness kills the illusion of liquid metal.

4

Type cut from alloy

Headlines ride a silver-to-violet gradient sweep — rounded geometric forms only, the kind of letterforms that look poured rather than printed.
