I spent two weeks in the winter of 2017 at a corrugating plant outside of Milwaukee, watching kraft linerboard feed into a single-facer at 400 feet per minute. The flute profile — C-flute, 4mm take-up — determines crush resistance, stacking strength, and print surface all at once. Most people who break down a moving box never see this. The engineering inside the wall structure is invisible by design.

The Weight It Carries

A standard 32-ECT C-flute box carries 65 pounds per square inch of edge crush load. That is not a disposable container. It is a structural component rated for five to eight stacking cycles in warehouse racking, with spec sheets that read like bridge load tables.
