The magic of one more move
Why generous color, tiny rewards, and a little suspense can turn a two-minute break into a ritual.
Make the next move feel inevitable
In 2012, I watched a small screen become a confectioner’s counter: bright pieces, soft corners, and a board that seemed to lean toward the hand. Nothing asked for a grand commitment. It offered one tidy swap, then made the next one glow.
The trick was generous feedback. A match did not simply disappear; it flashed, chimed, and left a little room for surprise. That rhythm turned a pause on the train from dead time into a private ritual, one bright decision at a time.
